The Map

It’s been a long time in the making, friends, and it’s finally here! I tried out all the paid and unpaid map tools with a trusted team of people who promised they would not leak my top 50 list. After testing, it was clear that the best option was the free one (we love that) in the form of a Google Map.

This is great because it’s free, but I was hoping one of the fancy tools with fun pop-ups, matching branding abilities, voiceover capabilities, passwords, links, or places for user-friendly long-form text would be a fit. Unfortunately, those other maps are all exceptionally glitchy or like $200 a month (and I don’t break even yet babes, so that’s out), so a simple Google Map it is! The biggest pro to that is that in your settings, you can set it up so that it’s always “up,” so as you wind up around a spot I love, you can check it out!

Currently, The Beyond Beurre Blanc Map features:

  • My 50 Favorite Restaurants of 2025 + 20 more

  • My 5 to Watch (yep you get it early)

  • Lanesboro Guide

  • Grand Marais Gude

  • Grand Rapids (Minnesota) Guide

  • And Duluth guide.

It looks like this when you click on a restaurant in that top 70, meaning you get behind-the-scenes tips from me!

In 2026, the maps will grow to feature the following:

  • My 20 Favorite Brick & Mortar Bakeries in Minnesota

  • My 10 Favorite Coffee Shops in Minnesota

  • Every time I go to a spot with good NA cocktails? I’ll add them to the NA Cocktail List

  • The Guide to Weekday Breakfast

  • The Weekend Brunch Bible

  • The Madison, WI < > Minneapolis Road-Trip Companion

  • The Minnesota Farm Guide (Berry picking! Apple orchards! Local meat!)

  • Guides for Rochester, Brainerd/Nisswa/Pequot Lakes, Northfield, and maybe Winona

How do you access it?

When you become a paid subscriber, you get access to the map and paywalled content, but you also support independent food journalism and restaurant criticism.

I am 100% funded and powered by my subscribers, which means I am an exceptionally nimble reporter.

I also don’t have a company credit card or salary to bankroll my work. I have a Subaru, a dog co-pilot, and a penchant for finding good food where you least expect it. I also have people like you.

You can access the map here! It will live on my homepage, too.

Every six months, I’ll change the map link and email you the new one.
